New bridge over the Arno river in Florence
The launching operations of the new bridge over the Arno River between Bellariva and Parco dell’Anconella in Florence were truly spectacular.
The 140-metre steel structure, weighing 1,700 tons, was positioned thanks to highly precise, synchronized rotation and shifting movements carried out using SPMTs.
Currently, 80 mt rest between the south abutment and the pillar, while 60 mt remain cantilevered over the river. The next phase involves welding the keystone segment which will connect the two completed sections.
